Bargain Hunters' Paradise

Started in May, 2004, the weekly Thursday morning Table Top Sale has become a regular event at RCBC. The sale is held in aid of the work of Bishop Pallangyo's Foundation among the street children of Naivasha, Kenya. Many of them are Aids orphans, abandoned by their families, and left to fend for themselves as best they can by scavenging and begging.

If the weather is fine, the sale is held in the Church forecourt, otherwise inside the Church.

You are invited to make an offer for any item, or items, you would like to purchase. All proceeds, less only currency transfer fees, are forwarded directly to Bishop Jeremiah. Since starting the sale we have been able to send him over £20,000. This money has been used exclusively for clothing, feeding and educating the children in his care.

Donations of goods for sale are always appreciated. Bric-a-brac should have no more than minor damage; books should be clean and in good condition. However, we regret we cannot accept clothing unless it is new or virtually new, and electrical items should not be more than one year old, unless unused. (They are not required to be PAT tested, although if they can be this is most helpful.) Also, we regret we cannot accept bulky items of furniture due to restricted storage space.

Please Note: Because of our limited storage capacity, if we have not been able to sell an item within three weeks, we may pass it on to another local charity. Currently we send goods to Age Concern, Help the Aged, Marie Cure Cancer Care, Oxfam Books,  and Shaw Trust.

Why not drop by and sample what's on offer - and also enjoy a cup of tea or coffee at Kettle's Boiling?

To know more about the Table-top Sale, or to arrange delivery of a donation of goods, please contact Mrs Ann Kemp on (01793) 335937 or contact her from here by email.
